Historical nuclear tests, including those conducted during the Cold War, helped to emphasise the durability of canned food and beverages. Roberto Baroni* reports

Since 1945, more than 2,000 nuclear test explosions have been conducted all around the World. More than half have been carried out by USA and another 35 per cent by the Soviet Union, mostly in Kazakhstan.
