Canpack backs academy that helps disadvantaged youths

Canpack has lent its support to one of Poland’s largest social initiatives, the Academy of the Future, which works to help the country’s disadvantaged children.

The academy said this was the first time it had teamed up with the business community and the support of the global canmaker will help it reach more than 1,800 children across Poland this year and next.

In a series of programmes, the academy aims to help young people reach their potential and build the confidence to take on new opportunities.

“Partnering with the Academy of the Future is an important project for us, as it is in line with our global sustainable development strategy,” said Malgorzata Podrecka from Canpack.

“We have a proud record of supporting young talented individuals and helping them pursue their passions and live up to their potential. Through our partnership with the Academy of the Future we hope to support even more young people.”

Canpack, which is headquartered in the southern city of Krakow, said it is also working with the academy “for the enrichment of its own employees and their children”. The company added that it had supported a number of online workshops to help children recognise their strengths and ambitions and help parents recognise the importance of their children’s personal development.

“The idea of the Academy of the Future came from Canpack, and together we created the agenda – an example of a real, fruitful partnership between NGOs and business,” said Joanna Sadzik, chief executive of the Spring Association, which implements the Academy of the Future.
