Coca-Cola Consolidated appoints new president

US-based Coca-Cola Bottling Co Consolidated has appointed David Katz as president and chief operating officer, replacing Henry Flint who will take up the role of vice chairman of the board.

Effective at the start of next year, the appointment comes with Katz succeeding Flint on the company’s executive committee.

Coca-Cola Consolidated is the largest independent Coca-Cola bottler in the US, operating in 14 states. Its chief executive Frank Harrison said: “We are very fortunate to have these two great leaders as a part of our senior leadership team.

“This announcement is the result of a carefully planned succession process. The board and I have great confidence in Dave and his ability to lead our company in the coming years, and we are deeply appreciative of the wonderful job Henry has done serving the company as president and chief operating officer over the past six years.”

Katz joined the company in 2013 as senior vice president. Over the past five years, he has served in various capacities before being appointed as chief financial officer in January this year. Flint joined the company in 2004 as executive vice president and was made president in August of 2012.
