Crown showcases engineering opportunities at Milan jobs fair

Engineering opportunities at canmaker Crown were highlighted at a recent international jobs fair in Milan, Italy, in a move designed to attract the best and brightest people to the company.

Representatives from Crown’s European Division took part in the fair organised at the Bovisa campus of Politecnico di Milano. Ambassadors from Crown’s food can plant in Parma and its aerosol can facility in Spilamberto joined its recruitment team to highlight what it is like to work for the business.

With the help of current and former engineers from Crown’s Forward Initiative, the canmaker also demonstrated the high value it places on skills management and lifelong learning opportunities.

Designed to identify, recruit and train candidates with key foundational skills for future management roles, the Forward programme exposes participants to assignments that span countries and disciplines ranging from continuous improvement to engineering over a 24 to 36-month period.

During the fair, Crown staff met more than 300 students from all over the world to discuss career opportunities. The event was one of several jobs fairs and events the company has attended over the past few months to identify future talent and discuss the exciting opportunities on offer in canmaking.

For example, employees from Crown’s Kechnec beverage canmaking plant took part in the largest jobs fair in eastern Slovakia called ‘Profesia Days’. Almost 6,500 visitors attended this jobs fair held at the end of September.
