Crown team presented with INX can design competition trophy

The Crown Brand Building Packaging team that won INX International’s inaugural Colored by INX Can Design competition earlier this year has been presented with a trophy.

The canmaker’s Mexico-based creatives came up with the colourful can for brewer INDIO’s Barrio de los Muertos beer, which has been brewed and sold in Mexico since 1893. The can highlights Mexico’s Day of the Dead celebration of lost loved ones.

The judges received more than 200 entries for the competition and votes were cast by the public on INX’s Facebook page.

The competition rules required entrants to submit a design from 2019 and to use at least two colours from INX’s Color Perfection library.

“We took advantage of the vast spectrum of colours in the catalogue to make our products stand out with the different transparent, opaque and bright varieties of colours,” Crown’s graphic designer Esveydi Rossano said.

“I’m so proud of all the people on production, in the offices, our suppliers in Crown Mexico; behind all of the cans there is passion for our job.”

Schaumburg, Illinois-based INX is among the largest ink makers in the US and offers ink and coatings to the packaging industry.
