European tinplate sell-off possible as Thyssenkrupp chief executive resigns

German steelmaker Thyssenkrupp and Indian-owned Tata Steel Europe could be forced to sell some of their packaging steel assets in order to win European Competition Commission (ECC) approval for the proposed European joint venture (JV) agreed at the end of June.
