Flexible and modular labelling machine launched

A modular labelling machine has been added to KHS Group’s Innoket Neo range, and which supersedes the Innoket SE machines.

The Innoket Neo Flex features quick-change modules for increased flexibility in handling all labelling techniques and is suitable for labelling packs including metal cans at outputs up to 74,000 items per hour.

Depending on requirements, the Flex series can be equipped with two, three or four modules that are changed with manual adjustments and without the need for tools.

“In the past there was a separate machine for each different labelling technique,” says Henrik Kahrmann, who works in product support for KHS. “This was optimised for its specific area of application but reached its limits when customers wanted to expand their portfolio, for example by adding self-adhesive labelling in combination with the classic cold glue method.”

The Flex can be used either standalone or as part of a production line. “Our labellers have been designed so that they can be easily integrated into any existing or planned line,” adds Kahrmann.

Equipped with Siemens TIA1 Totally Integrated Automation technology, the Neo Flex also offers ease of operation and low maintenance. “The combination of TIA Portal and Simatic S7-1500 controller results in significant performance benefits in the control unit’s reaction time,” Kahrmann explains. And, with its patented folding door technology, the machine carousel and individual stations are readily accessible at all times.
