The canmaking community is set to get together in London next week for what promises to be a highlight of the industry’s calendar – The Canmaker Summit of 2019.
More than two hundred executives and senior managers – representing 120 companies from 27 countries – will gather for the two-day event at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London St Paul’s in the shadow of the historic St Paul’s Cathedral. They will also witness the presentation of the prestigious Can of the Year award.
This is the first time the Summit has taken place in the City of London, where it will begin with an evening reception on Tuesday 8 October in the Nelson Chamber at St Paul’s Cathedral, followed by two days of meetings, discussions and topical presentations.
Jason Ramskill, VP operations at Ball Europe and Stephen McAneny, group VP commercial at Canpack will head the agenda, which includes a broad range of topics such as: trends and opportunities in metal packaging; waste and the sustainability debate; materials safety; market analysis; can design and customer perception; and growing the skills base needed for the future of the industry.
The event will be capped on Wednesday night with the announcement of the Cans of the Year Awards 2019, a ceremony that recognises the most innovative and appealing metal packages from the past 12 months. This year was a record year for entries and the event promises an impressive display of all those shortlisted for awards.
