German coatings producer Lankwitzer Lackfabrik has diversified its range with UV-cured products for metal packaging.
The Berlin-based company offers coating systems based on UV-cured, water-based, solvent and powder technologies and last year appointed a new division manager to lead its packaging coating activities, Roman Lüdigk, who joined from PPG.
“Lankwitzer has many years of experience in the cosmetics packaging sector and the corresponding environmentally-friendly UV and hydro coating systems,” Lüdigk told The Canmaker.
“Our customers increasingly asked us to act as a full-range supplier for packaging coatings as well, with a view to creating a competent second supplier and single-source partner.”
For the metal packaging sector, Lankwitzer makes UV-cured coatings for cosmetic packaging and beverage can bottom rims, as well as coatings for monobloc aerosol cans, aluminium tubes and closure systems.
It has UV-cured coating manufacturing sites in Berlin and Osterwieck in central Germany.
“All our coating products are based on innovative surface technology, especially in the field of UV and hydro coatings,” Lankwitzer said.
“Our tailor-made coating solutions combined with excellent engineering support in application technology enable us to respond quickly and flexibly to our customers’ wishes.”
