Metal closure production expands in Spain

May 29: Metal closure production capacity is being upgraded in Spain next week with the opening of a new plant by Crown.
Growing domestic demand for metal closures, widely used on glass jars for variety of food products, has prompted investment in the Crown Embalajes Espana plant near Seville, which replaces a plant at nearby Dos Hermanas from June 5.
Production efficiency, worker safety and output have been improved along with adherence to environmental guidelines including the use of energy-saving conveying systems and UV-cured coatings that reduce the need for thermal curing process, says Crown.
“We are excited about this plant relocation and upgrade,” said plant manager Jose Ignacio Odriozola. “The substantial increase in output and efficiency will enable to better serve our customers and enhance our competitiveness in Spain and worldwide.”
