The Canmaker Summit, set to take place in Prague this autumn, has been rescheduled because of the problems associated with the coronavirus pandemic.
Although it had been hoped that the gradual release of lockdown conditions would have made it possible to go ahead this year, the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in many countries and associated travel restrictions, combined with continuing health and safety concerns about large gatherings of people, meant the event has been postponed to 6-7 October 2021 at the original Czech Republic location.
“A vital part of The Canmaker Summit is the ability to exchange news and ideas with colleagues and friends, as well as establishing new business contacts,” said event organiser Christina Kerr. “We don’t want the restrictions to compromise our ability to offer the full experience of the Summit, which delegates have helped to shape for over 30 years.
“Of course, we’re disappointed but we’ll look forward to welcoming delegates to Prague in 2021.”
Meanwhile, The Canmaker magazine Cans of the Year Awards 2020 are still on track and entries are being submitted. This has been a year that has demonstrated the essential role that cans play throughout the world, so it is the perfect time to showcase and applaud our industry for rising to the challenges of the pandemic.
Whether you make cans, use them or provide the machinery or materials used in the production process, it is time to step forward and be proud of your products.
