Registration is open for the 12th International Tinplate Conference, which will be held virtually for the first time next month.
Titled Meeting Sustainability & Technology Challenges the event on 20-21 October will see industry leaders from across the world discuss a range of topics including innovations in canmaking, tinplate technologies and sustainable practices.
The conference is held every four years and 125 delegates last met in London in 2016. The pandemic prevented the 2020 event from taking place and the International Tin Association (ITA), which organises the conference, rescheduled it to an online meeting this year.
“We are excited about the opportunities this online event may bring to increase global participation,” the ITA said.
Among the speakers scheduled to attend the 2020 conference are representatives from the Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging (Apeal), the UK’s Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association, ThyssenKrupp Rasselstein and Tata Steel Europe.
The International Tinplate Conference first met in 1976, providing an opportunity for canmakers and other users of tinplate to discuss emerging technologies and trends.
